ABOUT US

SPORTSFUL & CO PTY LTD is a Melbourne-based marketing and content consultancy specialising in the sports business industry. We deliver cross-border marketing programmes connecting Japanese brands entering the Australian market, and Australian sports properties engaging Japanese audiences and partners.

Our work spans brand campaigns for global manufacturing clients, athlete-led content programmes, and the operation of international sports tournament events — including running the Australian chapter of a youth soccer competition founded by a world-renowned Japanese athlete.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Content Marketing Specialist to join our team in a full-time, ongoing position. This role is central to our content production, social media management, and digital marketing activities across multiple sports and brand clients.

You will create and publish text, photo and video content designed to grow audiences, build brand awareness and increase sales across our clients’ digital and social media platforms — from manufacturing brand campaigns and athlete activation content, through to live event coverage and tournament marketing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop content strategies aligned with client marketing objectives, across multiple sports and brand accounts
Create written, visual and multimedia content for websites, social media, email campaigns and advertising
Manage social media channels including scheduling, posting and community engagement
Plan and produce content for live sporting events and tournaments, including on-site capture and real-time social coverage
Direct and brief external creative producers (photographers, videographers, designers) and review their output
Optimise content for SEO and monitor performance using analytics tools
Conduct market and audience research to identify content opportunities
Maintain a structured content calendar and ensure all content meets brand guidelines
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to support marketing campaigns and brand storytelling
Support bilingual (Japanese–English) content programmes for cross-border client engagements

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism or related field (or equivalent experience)
2–3+ years of experience in content creation, digital marketing or social media management
Strong copywriting, video editing and digital storytelling skills
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CMS platforms and analytics tools
Strong communication and organisational skills
Portfolio demonstrating previous content work
Experience in or passion for the sports industry highly regarded
Japanese language proficiency highly regarded, given our cross-border client base

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

Employment Type: Full-time, ongoing
Hours: 38 hours per week
Location: Melbourne, VIC
Salary: $80,000–$90,000 per annum + superannuation
Start Date: Immediate
