About the Role
You will lead and contribute to a broad range of projects across the mental health program. You will develop and coordinate project plans and facilitate service development and improvement activities in conjunction with key stakeholders.

Participate in strategic planning, quality and safety, and continuous improvement linked with service priorities and sector directions

Lead the development and implementation of identified strategies, plans and projects, including stakeholder consultation, needs analysis and evaluation

Actively support the Lived and Living Experience Workforces in relation to key improvements identified by consumers and families, carers and supporters
Classifications for this position will range from:

RPN Grade 4 NP75 - NP77 ($121,274 - $130,603 per annum pro rata)

OT/SW Grade 4 HR9 - HR12 or HR25 - HR28 ($107,260 - $122,548 per annum pro rata)

Administration Grade 4 YC91 - AK25 ($96,064 - $107,790 per annum pro rata)

The Mental Health program provides high-quality, recovery-oriented services for adults and older adults in the Cities of Yarra, Boroondara and parts of Darebin. The service uses a strengths model of recovery, embedded across all parts of the mental health service.

St. Vincent’s Mental Health (SVMH) provides high-quality, recovery-oriented services for adults and older adults in the Cities of Yarra and Boroondara and parts of Darebin. The service utilises a strengths model of recovery, embedded across all parts of the mental health service.
The adult mental health bed-based service components are the Acute Inpatient Service (AIS) which provides five statewide Koori Mental Health beds, Footbridge Community Care Units (CCU), North Fitzroy Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) and the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry service.
The adult mental health community service components are Hawthorn Community Mental Health Service and Clarendon (East Melbourne) Community Mental Health Service which provide Mobile Support and Treatment (MST), Continuing Care and Treatment (CCT) and Homeless Persons Outreach (HOPS). Other functions include Psychiatric Triage, Crisis Assessment and Treatment Service, Emergency Department Mental Health, Extended Triage, HOPE (Suicide Prevention), Perinatal Emotional Health service and STAY supporting Yarra Housing.
NEXUS Dual Diagnosis Service, the Body Image and Eating Disorders Assessment and Treatment and Recovery Service (BETRS) are regional services. State-wide services are the Victorian Dual Disability Service and Victorian Transcultural Mental Health.
The Older Adult Mental Health Service components are Normanby House acute inpatient service located at St George’s Hospital Kew, Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, Aged Psychiatry Assessment and Treatment Team), Residential Support Program, and in-reach into Auburn House and Berrengarra (psycho-geriatric nursing homes). Primary health service is provided by the Healthy Ageing Service and the Older Persons Autism Liaison Service.
We are committed the recruitment and retention of high-quality staff. Staff are supported to maintain and develop skills to support the provision of excellent clinical care. SVMH has a strong education and research focus and affiliations with several universities and educational institutions. All SVMH clinical staff is expected to be familiar, and practice in a manner consistent with the National Practice Standards for the Mental Health Workforce.
Under the guidance of the Group Operations Manager Service Development & Administration, the project officer leads and contributes to a broad range of projects across the mental health program. The project officer will develop and coordinate project plans, communication strategies and will facilitate service development and improvement activities across the program and in conjunction with key stakeholders.

Participate in a range of strategic planning, quality and safety, and continuous improvement activities linked with service priorities and sector directions, and in collaboration with key stakeholders across the mental health program, broader health service and mental health sector

Lead and contribute to the development and implementation of identified strategies, plans and projects. This will include stakeholder consultation, needs analysis, risk management, data collection and analysis, and evaluation

Actively support the Lived and Living Experience Workforce leadership in key improvements relating to consumer experience identified via the Consumer Reference Committee and key improvements relating to carer/supporter experience identified via the Family Carer Supporter Advisory Committee

Contribute to policy development, staff education and professional development activities, review and develop clinical processes, documentation audits, quality projects, research support, community development and and health promotion projects

Facilitate service involvement in key community networks to support planning and partnerships with a range of community organisation

Contribute to the development of resources for internal and external stakeholders including web-based and hard copy materials
-
Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (all disciplines except Social Work).

RPNs - Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). Relevant postgraduate qualification in mental health.

Occupational Therapists - Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

Psychologists - Registration as a psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009). Practice endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist under AHPRA.

Social Workers - An approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers

Extensive project and/or administrative experience in health care organisations

Current Victorian driver’s license

Demonstrated clinical and/or project experience in mental health

Experience working within project teams through all stages of projects from development, implementation to evaluation

Passion for improving service provision for consumers and families, carers and supporters

Demonstrated allyship for lived and living experience workforces and an understanding of co-production and co-design principles and their application

Demonstrated understanding of contemporary mental health service provision, recovery-oriented practice, Victorian mental health legislation and policy frameworks

Highly developed skills in engagement and collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders including consumers, carers/supporters, clinical teams, managers and external agencies

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including problem solving ability and conflict resolution skills

Highly developed presentation and writing skills
