Exciting Career Opportunities in Anaesthetics and Perioperative Medicine
Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is seeking experienced specialist(s) anaesthetists to join the Department of Anaesthetics, Perioperative Medicine, and Pain Medicine as a Fixed-Term Fractional Specialist (Anaesthetics) for 6 - 12 months, with appointmments available up to 1 FTE.
The role provides opportunities across anaesthesia and perioperative medicine, including clinical responsibilities within the Enhanced Care Unit (ECU) and within the High Acuity Team (HAT), supporting the care of patients undergoing complex cancer surgery.

1. Anaesthetic, Periop & Pain Services
Provide the highest standard of patient focused, evidence based care in the perioperative period
Participation in the on-call roster
Timely attendance at clinical sessions
Completion of clinical records
Contribution to the management of clinical risk, including mandatory reporting
2. Adherence to hospital policies and procedures to ensure ethical care
To actively contribute to regular meetings and demonstrate a commitment to business processes and policies ensuring ethical care.
Attend and contribute to regular Departmental, Academic and Managerial meetings
Participate and deliver on quality assurance requirements
Adhere to Organizational policies and procedures ensuring ethical care
Provide cover for absences for colleagues taking annual /study leave.
3. Professional Development
Take part in research projects and postgraduate teaching
Attend and contribute to post-graduate medical education
Take part in research projects
Teach postgraduate students as required
Supervise/teach junior medical and nursing staff
Demonstrate a commitment to continuing medical education
