About the role:

The Case Manager role is positioned in the Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Unit of the Crime and Counter Terrorism Investigation Services. Reporting to a Sergeant, you will be responsible for the coordination of CVE intervention through a holistic approach to ensure that the needs of clients are met, and that the safety of the Victorian community is maintained. As a Case Manager you will be required to regularly liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to ensure work unit service delivery is maintained.

The CVE Unit aims to reduce the risk of individuals becoming or remaining violent extremists and to address the social impacts of violent extremism by undertaking the following key activities:

Establish a coordinated intervention structure which will best identify, and support individuals deemed at risk of radicalisation to violent extremism,
Build the resilience of communities to violent extremism,
Support the diversion of individuals at risk of becoming violent extremists when possible,
Rehabilitate and reintegrate violent extremists when possible,
Enhance the capacity of Government and non-Government agencies to support and deliver CVE identification and intervention activities,
Coordinate intervention strategies on behalf of the unit, with external stakeholders to reduce the risk of radicalisation and violent extremism.

Your duties will include:

Coordinate the service delivery of tailored intervention plans with a range of internal and external stakeholders,
Provide a high level of customer service, attending to enquiries from a range of stakeholders,
Prepare reports of a high standard, including but not limited to progress reports, case notes and briefing notes,
Undertake the development and delivery of intervention options using appropriate and contemporary research techniques and methodologies,
Maintain management of work unit portfolios, such as Community Support Group engagement,
Undertake and participate in regular professional development with exposure to national and international researchers and subject matter experts,
Participate in regular group peer supervision.
Delive ring therapeutic interventions may be either in-person, by phone and any other approved digital medium

About You:

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

Highly developed oral and written communication skills, with the proven ability to manage and engage with a range of stakeholders,
The ability to develop proactive intervention plans based on complex needs,
The ability to work effectively both autonomously and within a dynamic team environment,
Prior case management experience in therapeutic interventions (required),
A relevant qualification (desirable),
Maintain a current Working with Children Check.

Further Information:

One (1) x full-time, fixed term until 30 June 2027 position available.
This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
