POSITION: Sales Director – APAC

LOCATION: Home-based / Remote – Australia. Candidates should be based in Eastern, Southern or South-Eastern Australia and be willing to travel extensively across Australia and APAC.

REPORTING TO: Chief Sales & Marketing Officer

BACKGROUND:

Electricity demand across the Asia-Pacific region is rising rapidly, driving significant investment in electrical infrastructure, power transmission and distribution networks, utilities, and grid modernisation. This growth is being accelerated by renewable energy integration, grid reinforcement, electrification of transport and industry, data centre expansion, and increasing requirements for network resilience and energy security.

SLINGCO operates at the centre of this transformation. We design and manufacture engineered cable-handling and pulling solutions used in safety-critical electrical infrastructure and utility applications, supporting the installation, maintenance and development of power transmission and distribution networks. Our solutions are also used across data centres, offshore and industrial energy markets – where performance is non-negotiable.

With over 40 years of heritage, customers in more than 60 countries, and continued investment in infrastructure supporting the global energy transition, SLINGCO is growing rapidly across APAC. We are now looking to strengthen our presence in the region, with a particular focus on Australia’s electrical infrastructure and utility markets, while developing opportunities across the wider Asia-Pacific region.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a Sales Director – APAC, with primary responsibility for Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region, to lead and grow our regional business.

This is a senior, hands-on commercial role combining front-line sales, strategic market development and long-term growth responsibility. Initially, the role will be an individual contributor position, with a strong focus on building the market, developing key customer and partner relationships, and delivering revenue growth.

You will shape and execute the sales strategy across Australia and APAC, building and deepening relationships with utilities, electrical infrastructure providers, EPCs, distributors and contractors. You will identify and convert new market opportunities, develop major customer and partner relationships, and drive sustainable revenue growth across a fast-moving, opportunity-rich market.

As SLINGCO’s presence across the region grows, you will play a key role in developing the regional sales capability. Over time, and as the scale of the opportunity warrants, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a high-performing APAC sales team.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a hands-on, commercially focused role with responsibility for leading market development and regional growth. You will be expected to:

Lead from the front, win new business and manage key customer and strategic partner relationships.
Build and develop SLINGCO’s presence, with a focus on the Australian electrical infrastructure and utility markets.
Develop effective sales channels across Australia and the wider APAC region, including distributors, EPCs, electrical and infrastructure contractors, utilities and major end users.
Identify new product, customer and market opportunities in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
Help establish and develop the APAC sales capability over time, as the regional business grows.
Operate in a growth environment that values urgency, accountability and results.

The role requires extensive travel across Australia and the wider APAC region, prioritised according to commercial opportunity. There will also be an occasional requirement for international travel, including to SLINGCO Group locations in the UK and USA.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

You will be a commercially driven sales leader with:

A strong background selling tangible products into electrical infrastructure, utilities, power transmission, distribution or industrial markets in Australia.
Extensive experience developing business through distributors, EPCs, electrical and infrastructure contractors, utilities and major end users.
Proven ability to develop territories, build new markets, close complex deals, and consistently exceed targets.
The confidence and credibility to build relationships at senior customer, utility and partner levels.
Excellent communication, organisational, commercial and analytical skills.
A hands-on, proactive mindset with the ability to build a market, establish relationships and develop the regional sales capability over time.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Australia and APAC.
A full Australian driving licence is required.
A degree in a relevant business, engineering or technical discipline is preferred.
