Your Role

Due to continued growth, Vinnies is looking for a People & Culture Adviser to play a key role in supporting our people to thrive. As part of our People, Culture and Safety directorate, you'll partner with leaders across the organisation to provide practical HR advice, coordinate the employee lifecycle, and help deliver initiatives that strengthen our workplace culture. This is a true generalist role where no two days are the same. From recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, and organisational development, you'll work closely with leaders and colleagues to deliver a positive employee experience while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, policies and best practice. Your Responsibility
Provide timely, practical People & Culture advice, coaching and support to People Leaders across the employee lifecycle.
Coordinate and support recruitment, onboarding, employment changes, offboarding and volunteer compliance activities.
Support leaders with performance management, employee relations, conflict resolution and workplace investigations.
Assist with preparation and maintenance of position descriptions, organisation charts and employee records.
Ensure compliance with employment legislation, awards, policies and internal processes.
Build trusted relationships with leaders and stakeholders across the organisation.
Contribute to employee engagement, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion initiatives, including our Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) and Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Support or lead people initiatives related to the end-to-end employee lifecycle.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the workforce experience.
Prepare reports, maintain accurate case files and support effective governance, risk management and workplace health and safety practices.
You Will Need
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.
Experience in a generalist HR advisory role, including coaching leaders on employee matters.
Sound knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments and HR best practice.
Strong customer service, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
Experience using Microsoft Office, HRIS and payroll systems.
Current NSW drivers licence with the willingness to travel to various Vinnie's sites across NSW as required.
