Full Job Description

The Allied Health Clinic is expanding its services across South-Western Sydney and is seeking a passionate Speech Pathology Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to support Speech Pathologists in delivering meaningful, client-centred care to children, young adults, adults and older adults. You’ll be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, mentorship, continuous learning and professional development.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working under the direction and supervision of our Speech Pathologists, you may assist with:

Supporting the delivery of speech pathology intervention programs.
Implementing therapy activities and exercises as directed by the Speech Pathologist.
Supporting clients during individual and group therapy sessions.
Preparing therapy resources and activities.
Assisting with communication, language, literacy and functional participation activities.
Supporting clients in clinic, community and/or mobile settings.
Providing feedback to the supervising Speech Pathologist regarding client participation and progress.
Assisting with maintaining a positive, engaging and supportive therapy environment.
Working collaboratively with Speech Pathologists and other allied health professionals.

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

Final Year Speech Pathology Student; OR
Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, or relevant allied health/healthcare experience or studies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
A genuine interest in speech pathology and working with people across the lifespan.
Ability to follow clinical directions and work under the supervision of a Speech Pathologist.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Professional, reliable and compassionate approach to client care.

Desirable:

Valid Driver's License
Current or previous experience working with children or adults with disability.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Checks (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement):

National Police Clearance.
Working with Children Check and/or Working with Vulnerable People Check.
NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Location & Flexibility

The role may involve a combination of clinic-based and mobile/community work, depending on client and service requirements.
