Join one of Australia's leading multidisciplinary services for ARFID, paediatric feeding disorders and neurodiversity-affirming nutrition care. You'll primarily support children, young people and families experiencing feeding challenges, while having opportunities to develop expertise across the lifespan and in eating disorders if this aligns with your interests.
Transform Nutritional Healthcare with Us
At The Talbot Centre, we are not just part of the healthcare system—we are here to transform it. We believe every person deserves to know their worth, feel a sense of belonging, and be supported to grow into their full potential. Our mission is to challenge the status quo and pioneer a new kind of person-centred care—one that is deeply human, accessible, and empowering. We are reimagining healthcare, breaking down barriers, and creating real change for individuals, families, and communities.
If you’re driven by purpose and want to be part of something bigger, this is where you belong.
Be Part of a Movement, Not Just a Workplace: Our Approach to Eating & Feeding Disorders Care
At The Talbot Centre, we are at the forefront of evolving evidence-based eating disorder treatment to be more holistic, inclusive, affirming, and responsive to real-world complexity. We recognise that traditional treatments have often failed to meet the needs of clients from diverse backgrounds, neurodivergent populations, larger bodies, and those with complex presentations.
Our fat-positive, neurodiversity-affirming, and trauma-informed approach challenges diet culture, reduces stigma, and prioritises autonomy in recovery. We value lived experience perspectives alongside research and clinical expertise, ensuring our work is both evidence-based and deeply human. Within our multidisciplinary team, we provide collaborative, whole-person care that adapts to the needs of each individual.
If you're passionate about shaping the future of eating and feeding disorders care and working in a team committed to innovation and inclusivity, we'd love to hear from you.
Build Your Career, Your Way
We recognise that career satisfaction looks different for everyone, so we work with our dietitians to design roles that align with their passions and aspirations. Whether you’re an early career dietitian or an experienced clinician, we have a place for you.
- Graduate Program – Full-time or part-time (min 3 days a week), employed structured development pathway with extensive training & supervision. This pathway is suitable for new graduate dietitians or those within their first 12-18 months of work.
- Dietitian – Full time or part time employment, minimum 3 days engagement.
- Senior Dietitian – combine clinical work with supervision, team leadership, and service innovation. We currently have opportunities for new and experienced supervisors.
We are looking for a conscientious and compassionate dietitian who shares our passion for assisting all individuals to develop healthy, sustainable eating behaviours and positive body attitudes to join our team. We want you to make this role your own and will support you in offering broader dietetic services related to your interests in addition to working within our eating disorders clinic should this be desirable. There are also opportunities at all levels of experience to contribute to the development of our training and education services for professionals and communities.
We are currently seeking to engage someone in an employed capacity ideally part time (3 days per week) with an openness to 4 or 5 days for the right applicant. We would ideally like the role to commence in October (as one of our wonderful dietitians is going on maternity leave in November), however, start date is negotiable for the right applicant.
We would love to hear from you if you are passionate about working with patients and families with eating and feeding disorders, particularly with a paediatric focus (although across the lifespan care is available in the role). Prior experience working with these populations is desirable, however, if you have a strong interest to learn about providing services for this population we can provide all necessary training in house. There are also opportunities to work with a broader client group in addition to eating disorders and feeding concerns, should this be desirable.
Why The Talbot Centre?
At The Talbot Centre, we don’t just offer jobs—we offer a place to belong. We’re looking for someone who isn’t just searching for their next role, but a team where they can grow, thrive, and make a real impact for years to come. We are not a private practice; we are a private outpatient service with a unique organisational structure designed to provide the best possible support for our staff which in turn results in the highest quality care for our community. If you're looking for a meaningful, long-term career in a workplace that truly values you, we’d love to hear from you.
The Talbot Centre is a multi-award-winning, premier healthcare service in Northwest Sydney. We were awarded Team Culture Excellence at the Australian Allied Health Awards in 2024, reflecting our commitment to a supportive and thriving workplace. Our director is also a past recipient of the Excellence in Allied Health Leadership & Management Award (2021). As we can no longer consistently meet the demand for our services and aim to keep wait times as short as possible for our patients, we are looking to add an additional dietitian to our team.
As a practice we have a niche focus on eating and feeding disorders, with multidisciplinary services running through The Talbot Centre for Eating Behaviour. We have excellent facilities setup to support this work with a purpose planned kitchen and dining area as well as ongoing internal training and support to continue to develop skills in working with this population. We work within a neurodiverse affirming and fat positive philosophy of care.
Some examples of our philosophy in action include:
- Providing size-inclusive furniture for staff and clientele
- Liaising with neurodivergent collaborators for research and treatment purposes
- Creating a series of inclusive practice guidelines that govern how we engage at work
- Providing workplace accommodations for neurodivergent staff
Our centre has been built with your work in mind, offering beautiful consulting rooms, and a full kitchen and dining area to do practical work with clients. We are also a close walk to the local shops including a supermarket and multiple cafes and restaurants.
In addition to working with eating and feeding disorders, The Talbot Centre is well recognised as an industry leader in delivering services for individuals with PFD, people of all ages with ARFID and for neurodivergent (austitic, ADHDers) individuals with eating concerns. We have developed a unique multidisciplinary service model in this area and there are opportunities to contribute to innovation, research and program development in this space, as well as to contribute to or coordinate professional development workshops.
Our team includes dietitians and psychologists of varying backgrounds and experience levels, speech pathologists, and a paediatrician (with further expansion of services planned within the next 12 months).
