Kitchen Assistant (Prep & Pass) / Kitchen Coordinator

Ming Dining is an award-winning contemporary Cantonese restaurant located in the heart of Melbourne CBD. We are looking for a reliable, energetic and motivated Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen team in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

This role is ideal for someone who learns quickly and can assist chefs with food preparation, order coordination and food pass during busy service.

Key Responsibilities

Assist chefs with food preparation and basic cooking tasks
Prepare vegetables, ingredients and kitchen mise en place
Coordinate food pass and call orders during service
Ensure dishes are prepared and served in the correct order
Assist with plating and presentation under chef supervision
Support chefs during busy lunch and dinner services
Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen
Follow food safety and hygiene standards
Assist with stock organisation and deliveries when required

Requirements

Previous kitchen experience preferred
Experience in a Chinese restaurant is an advantage
Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Able to understand and communicate in Chinese
Quick learner with a positive attitude
Reliable, punctual and hardworking
Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
