Casual Stocktakers – Hobart & Surrounds

RGIS is a global leader in stocktaking and inventory solutions, supporting major retailers across Australia and around the world. Our clients rely on us to deliver fast, accurate stock counts that help them manage their business effectively. We are currently seeking reliable, energetic, and detail-oriented individuals to join our Casual Stocktake Team in the Hobart region.

What the Role Involves

As a Casual Stocktaker with RGIS, you will work as part of a team to complete accurate stocktakes at a variety of client locations across Tasmania. Key expectations of the role include:

Using a handheld RGIS scanning device to count and record inventory such as clothing, homewares, groceries, convenience items, liquor, and more
Working systematically through allocated areas to ensure every product is scanned correctly and in line with RGIS stocktake best practices
Following instruction from your Team Leader and contributing to team accuracy, productivity, and safety targets
Working in a range of environments including retail stores, storerooms, convenience stores, coolrooms, and warehouses
Standing, walking, bending, reaching, and using ladders safely to scan items at various heights
Maintaining professionalism in client stores and complying with all site safety and conduct expectations
Attending stocktakes at various locations across the Hobart & Greater Tasmanian Region (including occasional regional travel to Launceston, Burnie and Devonport areas)

Shifts generally take place outside normal trading hours (early mornings or evenings), as stocktakes occur while stores are closed to customers.

Early morning start times can vary from 6-7 am and afternoon shifts can start from 3 pm running into the late evening
Finish times of each shift cannot be available due to different variables
The workload in Hobart is variable. Staff at times may receive more or less then desired work hours. The hours between each week may vary 5-10 hours, quieter weeks may have no hours

You will work at different stores each shift, providing variety and exposure to multiple environments. Some shifts may include regional travel and occasional overnight stays with accommodation provided.

This is a hands-on, active, and fast-paced role suited to people who enjoy teamwork, variety, and working in changing environments.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate:

Flexibility to work a casual roster that may include early morning or evening shifts
Understanding that weekly hours vary depending on business needs (from one shift per week to several)
Reliable transport, as public transport may not operate at required start or finish times
Age 18+, due to work in liquor and tobacco retail environments and the requirement to work full shift durations that may fall outside permitted youth work hours
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
A positive, team-focused attitude and commitment to excellent service
Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and safely count stock at varying heights with a handheld scanning device
A willingness to travel overnight with the team in a company car with accommodation and meal allowances provided. Locations include Launceston, Devonport, Burnie and surrounds.

Please note: RGIS applies junior rates for employees under the age of 21 in accordance with the Miscellaneous Award. These rates are set by Fair Work and automatically apply to successful applicants aged 18–20.

Rosé – Full box contains 9 bottles
Shiraz – Full box contains 6 bottles,
Merlot – Full box contains 7 bottles.

The stock on the shelf includes:
Shiraz: 8 full boxes, 1 box with 2 bottles, and 5 loose bottles
Rosé: 5 full boxes, 1 box with 3 bottles, and 2 loose bottles
Merlot: 6 full boxes, 1 box with 4 bottles, and 6 loose bottles
