About the Role
You as a Grade 2 Registered Nurse, under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality patient care within the palliative care unit. The Grade 2 Registered Nurse will also be responsible for his/her own professional development, for supporting and assisting his/her colleagues and facilitating achievement of specific KPI’s as developed for the ward/unit.
Demonstrate a person-centred approach in all aspects of daily nursing practice
Demonstrate active pursuit of professional development relating to Palliative Care, and areas pertinent to nursing
Act as a role model and support junior staff in all clinical aspects
Mentor and preceptor new staff, nursing graduates and undergraduates
Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69,253.60 - $92,601.60 pro rata per annum).
Your Contribution
Degree in general nursing that meets the requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for Grade 2 Registered Nurses
Current AHPRA Registration
Minimum 3 years' experience in Palliative Care Nursing is essential
Post registration qualification in Palliative Care is desirable
Current National criminal history check

About Caritas Christi
The palliative care in-patient unit at Caritas Christi specialises in the care of patients with life limiting illnesses who may also have multiple medical co-morbidities. Our patients are admitted for end-of-life care, symptom management, assistance with discharge planning and respite. Specialised assessment, care and discharge planning is provided by an inter-disciplinary team.
