Job Description

Experts in workplace health, injury management and safety, Acumen Health delivers the highest standard in services across personal injury and occupational health. The team at Acumen Health focus on recovery and function to get clients back to work and back to life whatever their age, stage, or situation. Our personal injury division provides services through federal and state-based Workers Compensations, Motor Accident Schemes and Life Insurance. Acumen Health is Australia’s exclusive provider of Occupational Rehabilitation services to the Australian Defence Force.

As an ADF Rehabilitation Consultant, you will apply your clinical reasoning skills to support ADF personnel who have sustained a physical and/or psychological injury. A unique role where your rewards are truly meaningful and purposeful. Be part of the team that gets our military fully fit and ready to defend and protect Australia.

Taking a holistic care approach, work within a multidisciplinary team to support the journey from rehab to healing
Perform a variety of assessments depending on your area of clinical expertise. This could include functional capacity evaluations, worksite, ergonomic or activities of daily living assessments
Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including the employee who has suffered injury, illness, or trauma, medical specialists, other treatment providers and allied health professionals
Develop, implement and monitor rehabilitation plans.

This genuine person-centred role focusses on goal setting and achieving real outcomes. This 5 day fortnight role will see you working on base at Campbell Barracks in Swanbourne. If you're a local to Garden Island, this role may also be performed at HMAS Stirling. Full-Time options may also be considered.

Joining a high-quality service provider, you will be SUPPORTED and MENTORED through direct interaction and an extensive onboarding process (incl. ongoing shadowing) to build your technical knowledge and expertise setting you up for success.

What will make you successful:

Current unrestricted registration or membership with the relevant industry body (AHPRA, ESSA as an EP, ASORC or AASW)
Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Nursing, Osteopathy or Social Work
Australian Citizenship
Minimum of one year clinical work experience, registered in your chosen profession
Ability to engage across multidisciplinary teams to support the achievement of a common goal
Passion to help people rehabilitate
Occupational rehabilitation experience
