About Sunflower Hub

Sunflower Hub is a disability support organisation built by people with lived experience of disability and support work.

We know firsthand the challenges faced by participants and support workers, and we’re passionate about creating a safe, and supportive environment where clients, and our team feel valued and are equipped to succeed.

About the role

As a Casual House Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a Supported Independent Living (SIL) residence under the NDIS. You will lead a team of support workers, ensure high-quality, person-centred care, and create an environment where participants feel safe, respected, and supported to live with independence and dignity in their own home.

This is a leadership role with flexibility, training, and strong professional development opportunities.

Key responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and supervise support workers
Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative team culture
Oversee daily household operations, rosters, and planning
Develop and review support plans and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with NDIS, SDA, SIL and organisational standards
Oversee medication management, documentation, and reporting
Manage household and individual participant budgets
Communicate with families, guardians, and stakeholders
Coordinate allied health appointments and service delivery
Identify and report maintenance, safety, and compliance matters

About you

You are a calm, capable leader who leads with empathy and professionalism. Your participants are at the centre of everything you do. You are hands-on, solution-focused, and have confidence to make decisions in a complex disability environment.

Essential requirements

This role requires an availability commitment of 30 hours per week
Relevant qualification in Disability, Community Services, Social Work (or similar)
Minimum 1 year leadership experience in the disability sector
Strong understanding of NDIS and SDA standards
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Queensland Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
Reliability, professionalism, kindness, and proactive work ethic
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working with Children Check
Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
Two professional references
