About the role
As a Casual House Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a Supported Independent Living (SIL) residence under the NDIS. You will lead a team of support workers, ensure high-quality, person-centred care, and create an environment where participants feel safe, respected, and supported to live with independence and dignity in their own home.
This is a leadership role with flexibility, training, and strong professional development opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise support workers
- Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative team culture
- Oversee daily household operations, rosters, and planning
- Develop and review support plans and risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with NDIS, SDA, SIL and organisational standards
- Oversee medication management, documentation, and reporting
- Manage household and individual participant budgets
- Communicate with families, guardians, and stakeholders
- Coordinate allied health appointments and service delivery
- Identify and report maintenance, safety, and compliance matters
About you
You are a calm, capable leader who leads with empathy and professionalism. Your participants are at the centre of everything you do. You are hands-on, solution-focused, and have confidence to make decisions in a complex disability environment.
Essential requirements
- This role requires an availability commitment of 30 hours per week
- Relevant qualification in Disability, Community Services, Social Work (or similar)
- Minimum 1 year leadership experience in the disability sector
- Strong understanding of NDIS and SDA standards
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Queensland Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Reliability, professionalism, kindness, and proactive work ethic
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
- Two professional references
