About Burgerooze Bar & Grill

Burgerooze is entering an exciting new chapter as Burgerooze Bar & Grill, bringing together quality food, professional service and a contemporary dining experience in the heart of Gisborne, Victoria.

As part of an established hospitality group with a growing presence across Victoria, Burgerooze continues to build on its reputation for quality food, welcoming service and vibrant dining experiences.

Our evolving concept combines a modern restaurant and bar environment with an expanded menu, dedicated front-of-house staff, professional bar service and a broader restaurant offering.

As part of this exciting growth phase, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team and play an important role in the continued development of Burgerooze Bar & Grill.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team and work closely with the Head Chef and Restaurant Management to deliver consistently high-quality food across our menu.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard
Assisting with menu development and seasonal specials
Managing food preparation, mise en place and kitchen operations
Maintaining recipes, portion control and presentation standards
Monitoring food costs, stock levels and wastage
Checking deliveries and ingredient quality
Maintaining food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards
Supporting and training junior kitchen staff
Working efficiently during busy service periods
Liaising with management and front-of-house staff regarding specials and dietary requirements

Our Menu

Our diverse Bar & Grill menu includes:

Steaks and grilled dishes
Gourmet burgers
Chicken and Parma dishes
Pasta and pizza
Starters, share plates and salads
Sides and desserts
Daily and seasonal specials

About You

The successful applicant will have:

Relevant commercial kitchen experience
Experience in a busy restaurant environment
Strong cooking and food preparation skills
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene
Understanding of food costs and portion control
Ability to maintain consistent recipes and presentation
Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
Strong communication and attention to detail
Ability to support junior kitchen staff

A relevant Commercial Cookery qualification will be highly regarded.
