About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Strategy & Organisational Impact, the Corporate Portfolio Program Manager plays a pivotal role in leading the governance, oversight, and performance reporting of our corporate program portfolio, with a key focus on our high-impact Service Review Program.
In this role you will champion best-practice governance frameworks, drive accountability, and provide the insights and oversight needed to turn ambitious plans into successful outcomes.

Classification: Band 8 Commencing at $125, 701 + super.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establish and lead effective program governance structures and reporting frameworks, in line with Corporate Portfolio Delivery and Governance Frameworks, to support decision-making and accountability. This includes supporting the Service Review governance forums through preparation and maintenance of key artefacts.
- Lead the application of best practice program management, using delivery insights to drive continuous improvement and strengthen Corporate Portfolio Delivery and Governance Frameworks, while embedding consistent tools, templates, and practices within the Service Review Program.
- Own and drive oversight of program risks, issues, dependencies, benefits, and performance, taking decisive action to mitigate challenges and ensure delivery outcomes, and maintaining robust risk and issue management practices and reporting for the Service Review Program.
- Align program delivery to organisational strategy and integrated planning, ensuring programs deliver measurable outcomes and reflect enterprise priorities, with clear visibility of progress, benefits realisation, and risks to Executive Sponsors and key stakeholders.
- Lead program portfolio reporting, insights, and recommendations for the CEO, ELT, Audit & Risk Committee, and Council, supported by accurate and up-to-date program registers, dashboards, and reporting artefacts.
- Develop and maintain program-level artefacts, including program plans, registers, dashboards, and governance materials, ensuring consistent, accurate, and timely information to support decision-making.
- Lead Service Review Program roadmap planning and prioritisation, including ongoing review, reprioritisation, and preparation of roadmap updates for governance forums, partnering with senior stakeholders to provide evidence-based insights for prioritisation, resourcing, and investment decisions.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and or significant professional program management and PMO experience in a comparable organisation.
Essential Experience:
- Working knowledge of project/program management methodologies including PMBOK, Prince2 and Agile.
- Demonstrated experience managing programs with complex governance arrangements.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills in an environment working with complex and/or challenging internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with a range of stakeholders at all levels of an organisation to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and practices related to project and program management.
- Well-developed writing, presentation, and speaking skills to align with stakeholders and achieve support for task outcomes.
- Creation and management of PowerBI reporting dashboards and reports (desirable).
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Childrens Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
