Our People & Culture (P&C) division plays a pivotal role in shaping and driving the people strategy for Ambulance Victoria with critical functions across Health & Safety, Wellbeing & Support, Workforce Planning, Workplace & Employee Relations and Payroll Services.
About the role
Ambulance Victoria is currently seeking a suitable experienced senior leader for the position of Executive Director, People & Culture. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this Executive Leadership position represents an exciting opportunity to provide strategic leadership and direction to AV's P&C division, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and fostering a culture of excellence, engagement, and innovation.
As a key member of the Executive, this position is critical to:

Providing executive leadership, strategic advice and oversight of all aspects of the division, ensuring adherence to legislative requirements, risk mitigation, innovation and influencing achievement of divisional goals, AV's strategic plan and organisation wide objectives

Delivering cultural transformation, including fostering teamwork and psychological safety, driving accountability, promoting internal connection, and collaborating with service partners and stakeholders.

Delivering AV's People Plan that drives the cultural transformation and highlights the priority actions over the next three years. These actions will also drive AV towards the outcomes and vision set out in AV's Strategic Plan 2023-2028 and continue the journey commenced through the recommendations of the Victorian Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission

Integrating innovation and quality improvement into all practices across the organisation with a key focus on improved leadership capability, health, safety and wellbeing of the workforce

Providing expert advice, planning, leadership and assurance on people and industrial issues to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors to ensure decisions and consideration are in alignment with the AV strategic plan and objectives.

Implementation of a comprehensive people strategy, and associated KPIs, that align with organisational goals and objectives, leveraging emerging practices and trends to drive innovation, technology utilisation, data integration and the best possible level of care for our people and every patient, every time

Role modelling best care principles whilst building capability across the division to drive cultural transformation for a safe, fair, and inclusive workplace
About you
Suited to highly motivated and experienced strategic senior leader, the successful applicant will possess:

Completion of a tertiary or post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline to understand and/perform technical and/or clinical aspects of the role.

Demonstrated record of developing and implementing effective people strategies that drive business results in a large and complex environment together with deep understanding of progressive people practices, employment law and industrial frameworks

Demonstrated ability to drive and implement strategic cultural, organisational, and transformational change that has improved outcomes, team performance and strategic success
-
Demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams with a focus on Payroll, Health & Safety, Workforce Planning and Workplace & Employee Relations, fostering a safe and inclusive culture, with a continuous improvement and learning mindset

A high level of communication with proven ability to build and maintain relationship with a range of stakeholders, both internally and externally to collaboratively deliver projects, programs of work and strategic outcomes

A coaching, mentoring and leadership approach with demonstrated success in building and leading high performing and cross-functional teams through work reforms and change, continuous culture improvement with a professional development focus
