Full Job Description

Chef/Cook for Early Childhood Centre

Are you passionate about cooking delicious and nutritious meals for children? Do you thrive in a kitchen environment where you have the autonomy to make it your own? We are currently seeking a dedicated Cook/Chef to join our team 5 days a week, at Kindilan Early Childhood Centre Inc, a not-for-profit, community based Long Day Care Centre.

Responsibilities:

Prepare nutritious meals for up to 90 children per day from a set menu.
Order and maintain stock levels to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Conduct prep work, cooking, baking, and washing up duties.
Work with commercial appliances including a combi oven.
Collaborate with management and staff in menu planning.
Take ownership of kitchen operations and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role preferred, but not essential. Orientation will be provided.
Ability to work independently and efficiently manage kitchen tasks.
Passion for creating healthy and delicious meals for children.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
Working with Children Check, Food Handling Certificate and Mandatory Child Safety Training (or willingness to obtain).
Attendance at monthly staff meetings (paid).
