National Sales Manager

Seventeen Mile Rocks, Brisbane QLD

Base Salary up to $100k with OTE of $150-160k (uncapped bonus)

At Cohera-Tech, we help businesses and venues gain a deeper understanding of their customers through cutting-edge people-counting technology powered by sophisticated data analysis. We serve a wide range of industries, from retail and universities to shopping centres and swimming pools.

We're looking for an experienced Sales Manager who is hungry to build, win, and prove out a market: someone who wants to create something new rather than manage what already exists.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager/MD, this role is accountable for driving national revenue growth through proactive sales activity, structured pipeline management, and strategic account ownership. Our solutions centre on hardware deployments, supported by software and data services as part of an integrated offering.

This is a senior, strategic hire, not an entry point into sales management, and not a caretaker role either. You'll start as an individual contributor with a Sales Administration Assistant reporting to you, and you'll play a central role in shaping the sales function as it scales, including leading recruitment as the team grows. It's a genuine opportunity to build something from the ground up, with real autonomy over strategy, targets, and go-to-market approach.

We're looking for someone who's motivated by that build phase specifically: the ambition to shape a market position from scratch, not just inherit and optimise an established one, and who has the runway and drive to take this function through its next several years of growth.

Key Responsibilities

Developing and executing a national sales strategy aligned to 1, 3, and 5-year growth targets
Owning sales and gross margin targets, underpinned by a structured, measurable pipeline
Driving new business through direct outreach, partnerships, and industry events
Leveraging your existing network within adjacent industries to accelerate market penetration
Managing opportunities end-to-end, from prospecting through proposal, negotiation, and close
Collaborating with the technical team to present integrated hardware and software solutions
Owning and growing strategic national accounts as senior escalation point
Maintaining accurate CRM data and forecasting revenue with a high degree of accuracy
Monitoring competitor activity and market trends, feeding insights back into product and marketing
Leading recruitment and onboarding of future sales team members as the function scales

Skills and Experience

Required:

7+ years' experience in B2B sales or business development, including demonstrated experience operating at a senior or strategic level (e.g. owning a national/regional strategy, P&L, or margin targets, not just a personal sales quota)
A track record of building or significantly scaling a sales function, territory, or key account base from the ground up
A demonstrable drive to keep building and winning: you're energised by market-creation and growth targets, not just maintaining an existing book
A strong existing network within an adjacent or relevant industry
Experience managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting to close
Commercial acumen, including pricing and margin management
Strong CRM discipline and accurate forecasting
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly across Australia, with occasional travel to New Zealand

Desirable:

Experience in technology or integrated hardware/software solutions
Experience with enterprise or multi-site clients
Prior exposure to Australian and/or New Zealand markets
Experience hiring, onboarding, or mentoring junior sales team members

Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with full-time working rights in Australia.
