Step Up as Our Assistant Manager
Corbett & Claude is looking for an Assistant Manager (2IC) to help lead our Mount Gravatt (Garden City) venue. This is a genuine second-in-charge role with a clear path to General Manager for the right person - you'll be running shifts, developing the team, and learning the full commercial side of the venue alongside our Venue Manager.

What You'll Do
You'll work closely with the General Manager and Kitchen Manager to run great shifts and build a strong team.
- Run the floor: Lead service across front of house and coordinate with the kitchen, keeping food times, quality and guest experience where they need to be.
- Lead the team: Train, coach and mentor team members. Set the standard on shift and hold people to it.
- Rosters and labour: Build rosters to forecast sales and manage labour cost through the shift, adjusting as trade dictates.
- Ordering and stock: Manage ordering, stock levels and wastage so the venue is set up to trade without running out at peak.
- Bar and beverage: Oversee bar operations for speed, consistency and quality.
- Compliance: Uphold WHS and food safety requirements, and hold a current RSA before you start.
- Numbers: Understand and contribute to your venue's sales, labour and COGS targets not just supervise, but actively manage the result.
- Problem solving: Fix things on the spot and get to the root cause, rather than passing them up the line.
About You
- 2+ years in a supervisor, 2IC or assistant manager role, ideally in a high-volume venue.
- Calm under pressure and comfortable making decisions mid-service.
- Proven ability to lead, train and retain a team.
- Organised : rosters, ordering, stock and standards don't slip when you're busy.
- Commercially curious. You want to understand what drives sales, labour and margin.
- Strong communicator with team, guests and suppliers.
- Genuinely wants to progress to General Manager and is prepared to do the work to get there.
