What are we looking for

We are looking for an experienced Meat Inspector to join our Meat Processing facility in Campbellfield, Victoria

What you'll be doing

Inspect carcasses, primal cuts, and value‑added meat products to identify defects, contamination, or quality issues
Monitor and verify food safety and quality processes across boning room and value‑add operations
Conduct product checks and sampling to ensure specifications for quality, trim, weight, and presentation are met
Enforce hygiene and sanitation standards across processing, packing, storage, and dispatch areas
Work closely with supervisors and production staff to address non‑conformances and support corrective actions
Provide practical guidance on contamination risks, product handling, and compliance with grading and customer specifications
Complete inspection records and maintain accurate documentation for traceability and audit purposes
Support internal QA programs and external audits to ensure compliance with Australian food safety regulations and site standards
Identify and report any food safety risks or non‑compliance issues promptly

Must Haves

Good understanding of HACCP, food safety standards, and hygiene practices
Previous experience in a meat processing, boning room, or food production environment
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify quality or food safety issues
Clear communication skills to liaise with supervisors and production teams
Commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality, safety, and compliance
Basic computer skills for recording inspections and completing documentation

Role Requirements

Certificate III - Meat Processing (Food Safety); or
3 Years relevant work experience

Pay: From $79,499.00 per year
