What are we looking for
We are looking for an experienced Meat Inspector to join our Meat Processing facility in Campbellfield, Victoria
What you'll be doing
- Inspect carcasses, primal cuts, and value‑added meat products to identify defects, contamination, or quality issues
- Monitor and verify food safety and quality processes across boning room and value‑add operations
- Conduct product checks and sampling to ensure specifications for quality, trim, weight, and presentation are met
- Enforce hygiene and sanitation standards across processing, packing, storage, and dispatch areas
- Work closely with supervisors and production staff to address non‑conformances and support corrective actions
- Provide practical guidance on contamination risks, product handling, and compliance with grading and customer specifications
- Complete inspection records and maintain accurate documentation for traceability and audit purposes
- Support internal QA programs and external audits to ensure compliance with Australian food safety regulations and site standards
- Identify and report any food safety risks or non‑compliance issues promptly
Must Haves
- Good understanding of HACCP, food safety standards, and hygiene practices
- Previous experience in a meat processing, boning room, or food production environment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify quality or food safety issues
- Clear communication skills to liaise with supervisors and production teams
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality, safety, and compliance
- Basic computer skills for recording inspections and completing documentation
Role Requirements
- Certificate III - Meat Processing (Food Safety); or
- 3 Years relevant work experience
Pay: From $79,499.00 per year
Work Location: In person
