Medical Receptionists – Four Casual Positions

Triple M Medical Cowra | Cowra, NSW

Triple M Medical Cowra is seeking four friendly, calm and hardworking Medical Receptionists to join our new general practice in Cowra.

These are casual positions, with a range of weekday and potentially weekend hours available according to the practice roster.

We are looking for people who enjoy helping others, work well as part of a team and can provide patients with a warm and professional experience from the moment they contact or enter the practice.

About the Role

Medical receptionists are an essential part of our practice. You will be responsible for supporting patients, doctors, nurses and other team members while maintaining an organised, clean and efficient practice environment.

Responsibilities will include:

Welcoming patients in a friendly and professional manner
Answering telephone calls and responding to patient enquiries
Booking, confirming and changing appointments
Managing patient registrations and administrative information
Processing Medicare and private billing transactions
Receiving payments and issuing receipts
Supporting doctors and nurses with administrative tasks
Scanning, filing and managing clinical correspondence
Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality
Monitoring waiting rooms and communicating delays appropriately
Assisting with recalls, reminders and follow-up administration
Checking consultation rooms each day and ensuring stationery and routine supplies are adequately stocked
Keeping the reception area, waiting room, consultation rooms and other practice areas clean, tidy and presentable throughout the day
Completing routine daily cleaning and tidying duties as required
Working cooperatively with other receptionists and clinical staff
Assisting with general practice duties as required

About You

Previous medical reception experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Training can be provided to applicants who demonstrate the right attitude, reliability and ability to learn.

We are looking for applicants who are:

Efficient and well organised
Confident using computers and learning new software
Able to use initiative and practical common sense
Able to communicate clearly and professionally
Comfortable working in a busy environment
Able to manage several tasks without becoming overwhelmed
Supportive of doctors, nurses and fellow reception staff
Careful with confidential and sensitive information
Willing to undertake routine cleaning, tidying and restocking duties
Willing to contribute to a positive and cooperative workplace
Flexible with working hours and able to assist with roster coverage when available

Experience in customer service, administration, healthcare, hospitality, banking or another busy service-based environment will be well regarded.
