The Opportunity:

We are on the lookout for a practical and proactive Trainee Designer to join our growing team based at our office in the Brisbane CBD.

We are looking for applicants with a passion to learn and a keen interest in mineral processing who want to work on significant projects across a wide variety of commodities.

You will be part of a team and be mentored by experienced designers and engineers across a range of disciplines and projects.

Designers with a genuine interest in minerals processing who want to understand how equipment and processing plants work.

What to expect:

Work on projects with real responsibilities allowing you to contribute meaningful work and have real influence.
The opportunity to gain technical, professional and personal growth.
Career progression within GRES after the trainee program period ( up to 2 years)
Additional courses and training in specialised discipline software.
Exposure to all disciplines of design within the GRES organisation.
Exposure to the project team including project managers to appreciate what it takes to deliver a project on time and on budget.

Some of the key responsibilities you will learn are:

Assisting with the preparation of 2D and 3D design deliverables using CAD software.
Utilising engineering specifications and standards to performing design tasks.
Supporting Designers and Discipline Engineering with design preparation.
Effectively communicating with the project team, provide updates, raise issues and attend team meetings where required.

To be eligible:

A relevant TAFE qualification, Cert IV or Diploma in Engineering, Design, Drafting .
Experience with 3D parametric software and AutoCAD is desirable but not essential.
Strong desire to build a career as a draftsperson/designer.
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
High level of written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills using Microsoft office suite.
Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, and have full working rights at the time of application - applicants without full and unrestricted working rights will not be considered
