Lead Mechanical Engineer – Industrial

What you’ll do
As a Lead Mechanical Engineer in our Industrial Systems team based in Brisbane, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.
Partner with clients to deliver innovative and practical engineering solutions across complex projects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve technical problems and deliver integrated project outcomes.
Build strong relationships with clients, guiding technical discussions and aligning design solutions with project goals, operational needs and commercial drivers.
Guide and review the work of engineers and designers, ensuring high-quality mechanical design, procurement documentation, 3D models and construction deliverables.
Support and develop emerging engineers through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Contribute to winning work through the preparation of proposals, engineering estimates and capital cost assessments.
What you’ll bring
Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualifications and RPEQ registration (or eligibility to obtain)
Strong mechanical engineering experience delivering industrial projects across mining, manufacturing, oil and gas, energy or related sectors.
The ability to think strategically, evaluate options and develop practical solutions that deliver value for clients and communities.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams across various phases of the project lifecycle, from concept development through to detailed design and construction support.
An understanding of industry standards, regulations and engineering practices relevant to industrial facilities.
Proven experience applying project delivery methodologies to achieve successful project outcomes.
A track record of delivering high-quality engineering solutions in technically complex environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts and influence key stakeholders.
A collaborative approach to leadership, fostering strong relationships across project teams and client organisations.
