Take your legal administration career to the next level by joining our friendly, market-leading Public Sector practice in Canberra. At Clayton Utz, our Practice Administrators (PAs) are an instrumental part of our firm and provide crucial administrative support services to our legal teams.
Providing valued support to three Public Sector partners; Amanda Story (Co-Head of Public Sector), Angie Freeman (Co-Head of Digital) and Robert Dearn, as well as their team of lawyers, this role offers an experienced PA the opportunity to make the role their own and be a valued member of their high performing practice. Key Responsibilities
In this varied and fast-paced role, you will be responsible for:
Drafting, reviewing and preparing correspondence / documentation;
Managing all incoming correspondence, as well as providing a proactive and efficient approach to producing correspondence without direction;
File management, including matter opening and closing, matter administration management, electronic and physical filing, scanning, printing, photocopying and archiving;
Managing telephones, electronic diaries and voicemail for team members;
Organising meetings and travel, including a proactive approach to reorganising commitments on a needs basis;
Manipulation of complex documents;
General accounts, reporting and monthly billing;
Managing client specific billing requirements; and
Providing general administrative support to the team.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Broad PA/EA/legal secretarial experience (in professional services working with Partners or C -level executives would be advantageous, although not essential);
Excellent attention to detail;
Strong document production skills including version control;
Advanced skills in Word, Outlook (plus iManage and Aderant - preferable but not essential);
A proactive mindset - the ability to jump in, take initiative, and actively contribute to the smooth operation of the practice;
Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic, high performing work environment;
Ability to work part of a team and have a flexible and adaptable approach; and
Ability to anticipate Partner requirements to reduce administrative time.
