About the Position
Liberty Care Services is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the daily operations of our accounts team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a seamless experience for both our internal team and clients.
You will work closely with the manager and report directly to the director, contributing to the smooth running of our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Process end-to-end payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Australian payroll legislation and organisational policies.
· Maintain and update payroll systems, including MYP and Xero, ensuring accurate recording of employee information, salaries, superannuation, PAYG tax, and leave entitlements.
· Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll data with general ledger accounts.
· Assist in accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and reconciliations.
· Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
· Ensure compliance with Fair Work regulations, taxation requirements, and superannuation obligations.
· Maintain accurate financial records for audit and reporting purposes.
· Handle sensitive payroll and financial data with strict confidentiality.
· Liaise with staff and management regarding payroll and financial queries.
· Monitor updates in payroll and taxation legislation and implement necessary changes.
· Provide financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans, and operational decisions.
· Maintain internal control systems to ensure compliance and protect organisational assets.
Selection Criteria / Requirements
· Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or related roles
· Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
· Strong experience in financial reporting, reconciliations and audit readiness
· Demonstrated experience managing complex revenue streams and financial controls
· Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory compliance
· Experience leading and developing teams
· Advanced financial systems and Excel capability
· Experience within a government-funded, regulated, NFP or NDIS environment (highly regarded)

Pay: $79,499.00 – $85,000.00 per year
