Hong Kong Chef is an established hospitality business operating in Campbelltown, New South Wales. The business operates within a busy restaurant environment and requires effective administration, staff coordination, record management, supplier communication, payroll support, and compliance management to support its day-to-day operations.
To ensure its administrative functions and office resources are effectively organised and controlled, Hong Kong Chef is seeking to appoint a dedicated full-time Office Manager.
About the Role
The Office Manager will be responsible for organising and controlling the functions and resources of the office, including administrative systems, office personnel, records, accounts, equipment, and general office operations.
The position requires a highly organised and responsible individual capable of coordinating office services, supervising administrative activities, managing personnel-related processes, and ensuring the office operates efficiently and in accordance with relevant policies and legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The Office Manager will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the planning and review of office services, establishing priorities and maintaining appropriate office service standards.
- Allocating human resources, office space and equipment to support efficient day-to-day business operations.
- Assigning work to staff and monitoring work performance, providing guidance and supervision where required.
- Managing office records and accounts, including invoices, correspondence, employee records, payroll documentation, supplier records, and other administrative information.
- Liaising with professionals, including accountants, suppliers, contractors and service providers, to coordinate office business and facilitate the resolution of administrative and operational issues.
- Ensuring office equipment and supplies are maintained, serviced and replenished as required.
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and maintaining appropriate workplace documentation.
- Ensuring office activities comply with relevant government legislation, policies, procedures and internal business requirements.
- Coordinating personnel activities, including hiring, onboarding, promotions, performance management, payroll administration, staff training and supervision.
- Maintaining organised electronic and physical filing systems and ensuring business and employee information is accurate, secure and confidential.
- Preparing reports, correspondence, spreadsheets and other administrative documentation for management.
- Monitoring office procedures and recommending improvements to administrative systems, workflow and overall office efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- An AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Business Administration, Office Management, Management or a related discipline; or
- At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
Applicants should also demonstrate:
- Relevant office management or administrative experience.
- Strong organisational, leadership and time-management skills.
- Ability to supervise staff and coordinate administrative activities.
- Experience managing office records, accounts and personnel documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and general administrative systems.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety and relevant compliance requirements.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities.
