About Blue Butterfly Care

We're a clinically led NDIS disability support provider supporting participants with complex needs across Brisbane. We work with people experiencing behavioural support needs, intellectual disabilities, dementia, and complex psychosocial presentations. Our team operates with clinical rigour, genuine care, and a commitment to doing this work well.

The Role

As a Disabilities Services Officer, you'll be the operational backbone of our service. You'll split time between direct participant support and administrative coordination, meaning you understand both sides of service delivery. Your responsibilities include:

- Coordinating participant schedules, rostering staff, and managing support plan changes

- Processing NDIS documentation, updates, and participant file management

- Maintaining accurate records in our systems and managing documentation workflows

- Communicating with participants, families, and external services (GPs, therapists, allied health)

- Supporting service managers with compliance, incident documentation, and reporting

- Managing participant feedback and service issues

Direct Participant Support:

- Providing direct support on a rotating basis to develop relationships with participants

- Supporting activities of daily living and community participation

- Contributing observations to behaviour support documentation

- Assisting with participant intake processes and initial support planning

- Backing up community workers when needed

Coordination & Communication:

- Liaising between clinical staff, support workers, and participants

- Preparing meeting notes and action items for multidisciplinary planning

- Following up on support plans, goals, and participant feedback

- Supporting incident investigation and documentation processes

- Coordinating with NDIS, OPG, QCAT, and other external parties where needed

This is a role where you'll see the full picture of service delivery. You'll understand why documentation matters, why communication matters, and why consistency matters because you'll experience the impact when it's done well or poorly.

What We're Looking For

- Experience in disability, aged care, health administration, or community services (paid or volunteer)

- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

- Comfortable with electronic record-keeping systems and Microsoft Office

- Clear written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organised under pressure

- Discretion and professionalism with sensitive participant information

- Genuine commitment to disability support outcomes

- Flexibility to occasionally provide direct support to participants

- Valid driver's licence and safe driving record

- Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance required

- Willingness to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check

Desirable:

- Certificate III or IV in Community Services or Disability

- Experience with NDIS documentation and planning requirements

- Familiarity with incident reporting and risk management processes

- Experience supporting people with behavioural or mental health support needs

- Understanding of OPG/QCAT processes

- Experience with disability support software or rostering systems
