Join the City of Moreton Bay as a Business Support Officer and play an important role in supporting and enhancing our communities both now and into the future.
As a Business Support Officer, you will provide high-quality administrative and business support to the Building Certification and Compliance team. You will contribute to the smooth day-to-day operations of the team by managing correspondence, coordinating processes, and delivering responsive customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide efficient and professional administrative support to the Building Certification & Compliance team
Manage incoming correspondence, including monitoring and actioning shared inboxes and mail in a timely manner
Respond to customer enquiries, track requests, and ensure timely resolutio
Action Building Search Requests – both External (Building & Plumbing Searches – EPBUILD/BPSER/Form 19) and Internal
Process additional documentation applications lodged by Private Certifiers, including hard copy submissions
Prepare and support statutory building applications for Council Certifiers and Building Officers
Maintain accurate records, databases, and document management systems
Assist with data entry, reporting, and compliance-related administrative tasks
Coordinate internal workflows and support process improvements
Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure consistent service delivery
Contribute to a positive team environment through collaboration and knowledge sharing
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Experience in an administrative or business support role
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data management
A customer-focused approach with strong communication skills
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with TechnologyOne or similar systems (highly regarded)
Initiative and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes and systems
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience in local government, compliance, or building/planning environments
Records management or document control experience
Understanding of administrative processes related to statutory applications
Experience supporting workflow systems, CRM platforms, or case management tools
