Where you will be working
The Centre for Oral Health Strategy leads the strategic development and coordination of oral health policy and programs for NSW. The Centre monitors the implementation of population health-based oral health prevention initiatives and public oral health service delivery in NSW.
What you will be doing
The Manager NSW Oral Health Projects manages high priority NSW Health projects for the improvement of technological and operational processes and practices of the NSW Oral Health public dental services. The Manager NSW Oral Health Projects is responsible for leading the contract negotiation and delivery with vendors as applicable to managed projects.
The Manager NSW Oral Health Projects will be required to provide leadership, coordinate with relevant stakeholders, manage project timelines and budget, as well as provide business analysis expertise in scoping and defining projects. The Manager NSW Oral Health Projects is responsible for ensuring all the project development, integration and implementation requirements are well documented and communicated to all key parties.

We are seeking a motivated and committed individual who can support the work of COHS
Tertiary qualifications in dentistry / oral health, information technology, business management or related discipline OR a combination of skills and experience regarded as being acceptable for the satisfactory performance of the duties of the position.
Relevant government experience, including in Oral Health, in a senior business analysis or information technology project management role.
Extensive demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating the development or redevelopment of critical information management systems, including: - Project control, including governance processes and financial control; - Development of project plans and related project documentation; - Managing business requirements elicitation and approval; - Stakeholder engagement and communication; - Proactively managing risks, issues, budgets, and scope throughout the project lifecycle.
Experience in finalising procurement and contract processes and liaising with internal business units including legal and procurement branches and external vendors.
Demonstrated communication and negotiation skills with senior health managers, clinical leaders, senior executives and business sponsors, including the ability to present complex, detailed information and innovative management strategies in a coherent manner, preparing briefs, and ensuring appropriate communication around program status and issues to ensure that business needs are met.
Demonstrated understanding of policy development processes including but not limited to ability to translate NSW Health policy directives into practice in a Local Health District, particularly in relation to Oral Health.
Demonstrated high level leadership, strategic development, and team management skills to enable a clear and defined outcome focus to meet required deadlines.
High level conceptual, analytical, problem solving and planning skills and the ability to apply them in the procurement, development and implementation of new business processes and/or new oral health IT systems for NSW public dental services.
