About the Role
As part of our continued growth, National Storage is seeking a professional, compliance‑focused Facilities Manager to support our portfolio of storage centres across Australia and New Zealand.
Reporting to the Facilities Team Lead and working within the Facilities and Safety team, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing integrated facilities services across a large, multi‑site portfolio.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure facilities are maintained in a safe, compliant, and cost‑effective manner, with a strong emphasis on statutory and essential services compliance.
Planned, structured interstate and state‑based travel to centres will occur as part of compliance and inspection programs, generally once or twice per year.
This is a predominantly office‑based facilities management role, focused on governance, compliance oversight, contractor coordination, and service delivery rather than day‑to‑day on‑site maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
-
Coordinate and manage facilities activities across the portfolio, ensuring planned and reactive works are delivered efficiently and in line with agreed service levels.
-
Act as the key point of coordination for facilities matters raised by Centre and Operations teams, managing requests and issues through the company’s ticketing platform from initiation through to close‑out.
-
Provide clear visibility and governance over facilities works by ensuring tickets are accurately scoped, prioritised, tracked, and documented within the ticketing system.
-
Oversee external contractors and service providers delivering repairs, maintenance, and minor improvement works.
-
Manage statutory compliance programs across the portfolio, including fire services, lifts, essential services, and regulated building systems.
-
Coordinate scheduled maintenance programs, cyclic testing, inspections, and certification to meet regulatory and organisational requirements.
-
Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers to scope works and obtain competitive, transparent quotations.
-
Manage procurement and engagement of approved suppliers in line with Preferred Supplier and governance frameworks.
-
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation to support audit, compliance, and governance requirements.
About You
-
Proven experience in facilities or asset management within a multi‑site or service‑driven environment (property experience is advantageous).
-
Demonstrated capability managing fire compliance, lift compliance, and essential services across commercial or industrial assets.
-
Strong understanding of building compliance obligations and relevant Australian and New Zealand standards and regulations.
-
Experience coordinating external contractors and service providers in a structured, governance‑led environment.
-
Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities, documentation, and compliance programs.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging internal stakeholders and external partners.
-
Experience with access control systems, automatic roller doors, or automated gates will be considered advantageous but is not essential.
