Tasks & responsibilities
The Quality Manager (QM) is responsible for quality management and compliance risks within the ASL Airlines Australia Part 42 Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO). The QM maintains direct and continuous interaction with the Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM) and the ASL Airlines Australia Safety, Quality and Compliance Director, complementing the established Safety Management System (SMS).
The successful candidate will:

Hold safety as a core value, encouraging a positive safety culture and promoting safety awareness amongst all levels within our organisation.

Attain a comprehensive knowledge of the CAMO’s exposition.

Possess a working knowledge of the regulations and standards applicable to continuing airworthiness of aircraft.

Develop, coordinate and prioritise team resources to achieve our objective of compliant and safe operations.

Focus on implementing, maintaining and managing the quality system of our continuing airworthiness management organisation (CAMO).

Provide timely advice and assistance on quality and compliance matters to staff at all levels within our organisation.

Ensure safety and quality audit findings are responded to in a timely manner and associated remedial and/or corrective actions are planned and managed.

Develop, facilitate, and implement risk management activities and training requirements across the CAMO.

Manage the safety, quality databases and safety risk register and produce periodic reports as required.

Contribute to leadership of other Safety, Quality and Compliance team members.

Perform other duties as directed by the CAM or Safety, Quality & Compliance Director.
Mandatory Qualifications & experience
-
The successful candidate will attain comprehensive knowledge of the CAMO’s exposition.

Possess a working knowledge of the regulations and standards applicable to continuing airworthiness of aircraft.

Have successfully completed a course in quality management which is at least equivalent to the type of course required for a person to gain certification as a lead auditor.

At least 2 years’ experience in quality management.
Desirable Qualifications & experience
-
Previous safety, quality and compliance experience with an airline.
-
Broad airline operational knowledge (e.g. flight operations, engineering, ground handling).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Ability to relate to people at all levels, both internally and externally of our organisation.

Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
-
Aviation Auditing experience including compliance verification, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.

Regulatory engagement demonstrating compliance management.

Experience in conducting on-site evaluations, analysing documentation, and interviewing personnel to observe day-to-day practices.
