The Opportunity
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for the efficient and compliant execution of international and domestic freight shipments from end to end. This role ensures timely delivery, cost accuracy, and high-quality customer service while complying with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
Location: Brisbane, Australia
Line Manager: Operations Supervisor
Working Pattern: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week)
Key Role Accountabilities
Freight & Logistics Coordination
-
Coordinate customs clearance and local delivery for inbound international shipments.

Manage the efficient movement of export and import airfreight, including airline and courier bookings.

Arrange and track domestic freight movements, ensuring end-to-end visibility in FirstTrac.
-
Communicate proactively with customers to provide updates and resolve service issues.
Warehouse & Delivery Support
-
Liaise with overseas offices, service providers, and internal teams to meet delivery and cost targets.
-
Operate a reach forklift to assist with loading, unloading, and moving freight within the warehouse.
-
Support the warehouse team in physical handling and storage of cargo.

Perform local deliveries as required to meet customer needs and operational timelines.

Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and applicable transport regulations.
Customer Focus
- Have a full understanding of individual customer needs and requirements and maintain and develop customer relationships alongside customer solutions and any other relevant departments.

Communicate efficiently and professionally to customers on any changes that affect their business e.g. delays, changes to flights, emergency measures etc.
Compliance & Quality
-
Ensure export and import processes are completed in compliance with AEO regulations and procedures including:
-
Customs simplifications, security and safety.
-
B&H Worldwide ISO / QMS requirements, i.e. the swift and accurate completion of shipments working within the parameters of the AEO operating procedures and AU customs regulations and law.

Maintain compliance with Australian Air Cargo Agent (AACA) security requirements; report non-conformances promptly.

Ensure adherence to Company Health and Safety Policy, processes and procedures.

Maintain accurate and timely records, including data entry, invoicing, and cost reconciliation.
Measurement

Adhere to B&H Worldwide processes and SOPs, thereby ensuring company KPIs are met

Proactively manage operational files through agreed KPIs, including:
-
Files to be invoiced within agreed KPI.

Correct costs from suppliers added during the live operation of the job.

Correct customer tariff reducing customer invoice queries.
-
Shipment delivered to customer agreed KPI.
Your Experience
-
Proven experience working in a fast-paced, customer-facing operations environment, ideally gained within the aerospace / aviation industry.

Customer focussed with excellent attention to detail

Sound knowledge of import and export processes

Flexible

Team player

Valid Driving Licence

Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to use bespoke / freight management industry systems, such as CargoWise.

Be an excellent communicator with the ability to confidently and credibly engage and influence customers, partners and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.

Proven record of being responsive and innovative.

Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and meet defined deadlines.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise.

Work pro-actively using own initiative.

Ability to consider several possible options and decide on most appropriate method.

Strong commercial awareness, understands impact of actions.

Working knowledge of international trade compliance and documentation

Dangerous Goods certification (preferred)
Experience operating a reach forklift (licence or demonstrated competency preferred).
