About the role

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Project Officer to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage with a focus on leading the preparation and priority detail design development of key precincts for a master plan for a connected coastal walk on the NSW Central Coast.

As the Project Officer, you will support the Assets and Infrastructure team to finalise the publicly exhibited master plan, lead design development phase for priority walking trail and visitor precincts and support communications planning to stakeholders. The role will be required to support a range of other projects in design phase across Hunter Central Coast national parks reserves.

The Project Officer role reports to the Senior Project Officer and work within a project management framework and collaborate with contractors including landscape architects, to ensure designs are consistent with the final master plan and support communications with key stakeholders throughout the design phase. The project will require working to tight timeframes and budgets and deliver within the NSW government election commitment intent. This role will not be leading construction projects or delivery on ground works.

About You

We are looking for a dynamic Project Officer with excellent project management skills, experience in managing contracts and procurement process, asset construction or civil experience, data management and good communication skills. As Project Officer you will be comfortable undertaking lead as part on multiple projects at a time, have good time management, written and verbal communications skills with willingness to travel throughout the Branch to NPWS reserves.

We are looking for a dynamic project officer, with a passion for your community and environment, landscape designing, with a strong communications and stakeholder skills with an attention to detail, experience in contractor and project management to ensure success in this role. You'll be adept in providing landscape design advice and you will be comfortable undertaking lead in parts of a multiple agency project, have good time management, written and verbal communications skills with willingness to travel throughout the Hunter Central Coast area h to NPWS reserves. You will be required to support project development and delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy and environmental objectives and other project and priorities.

You will have the ability to support the team on procurement and contract management, including contractor supervision of remote works projects which will require regular travel throughout the Hunter Central Coast region.

Essential requirements

Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management and landscape design.
Experience in development and delivery of projects, including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration.
