About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Ranger to join the team and contribute to the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal cultural heritage.
This new role is jointly funded by Hunter Water Corporation (HWC) and NPWS and brings together the organisations' shared interests in conservation, land management and the protection of drinking water quality. The Ranger will have a particular focus on managing risks to water quality from activities and conditions on NPWS-managed lands, including contamination, surface runoff and erosion.
Alongside this catchment-focused work, you will undertake the broader responsibilities of an NPWS Ranger, helping to protect and conserve the natural, historic and Aboriginal cultural heritage values of parks and reserves.
This diverse role combines project management, environmental assessment, stakeholder engagement, field operations and emergency response. Working across both office and field environments, you'll contribute to conservation programs, visitor and fire management, and practical land management initiatives that deliver benefits for both protected areas and drinking water catchments.
