Full Job Description

English Steel Drafting is a well-established performer in delivering a customized solution for 2D and 3D structural steel detailing across Australia. Our company specializes in tier 1 and tier 2 commercial developments, large scale industrial developments and specialty projects. We foster a culture of collaboration, where all team members have a crucial role to play towards ensuring our success.

We are seeking a Structural Engineering Draftsperson who is looking for a new and exciting opportunity to join an experienced team of Drafters. As a part of a small team with an emphasis on a positive work culture, there is always opportunity for personal and professional growth for the candidate with a can-do mentality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ability to interpret and understand architectural and structural engineering drawings

Prepare high-quality 2D shop drawing

Deliver high-quality 3D models and ensure they are delivered on schedule

Identify technical issues and suggest solutions

Check engineering drawings for technical completeness, clarity, conformance with standards, dimensional accuracy and the correct specification of materials and processes.

Partcipate in mentoring and group training activities where required

Learn to manage and deliver RFI’s

Effectively communicate with the English Steel Drafting team in a timely and concise manner

Collaborate with team members and contribute to team discussions

Commitment to improve our customer experience

ABOUT YOU

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

We are seeking a candidate with 5 years or more experience in structural steel drafting, experience in the use of modelling software, and a strong willingness to expand their skills and pursue their career aspirations.

Our candidate will be able to work autonomously and in collaboration with our team, and have a strong emphasis on learning and problem-solving.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Diploma of Civil and Structural Engineering or higher.

WE OFFER

This is a permanent fulltime position, salary offered is $80,000 - $98,000 plus superannuation.

Remuneration will be based on experience and qualifications.
