The company supports residential, commercial, and industrial projects and provides services including site classification assessments, deep excavation and retaining wall design, pavement investigations, site inspections, consultation, and surveying.
Due to ongoing project demands and business growth, GEOID Engineering is seeking a qualified and motivated Civil Engineering Draftsperson (ANZSCO 312211) to join its professional team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, revise, and finalise detailed civil engineering and geotechnical drawings, plans, layouts, sections, and technical documentation using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar drafting software.
- Assist engineers in converting design concepts, sketches, specifications, and site information into accurate and compliant technical drawings.
- Prepare drawings and drafting documentation for site classification assessments, retaining wall systems, excavation works, pavement works, drainage layouts, and related civil engineering projects.
- Review drawings for dimensional accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements, relevant standards, and engineering specifications.
- Liaise with engineers, project staff, surveyors, and site personnel to obtain technical data and update drawings where required.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision records, and project drafting files in an organised and timely manner.
- Assist with as-built drawings, design amendments, and supporting project documentation.
- Contribute to project planning and delivery by identifying drafting issues, resolving discrepancies, and supporting efficient project outcomes.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil Construction Design, Engineering Drafting, or a closely related field.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in civil drafting, engineering documentation, or a closely related role.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent drafting software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering sketches, technical specifications, plans, and construction details.
- Sound understanding of civil construction methods, project coordination, and drawing/document control practices.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a professional engineering team.
- Previous exposure to geotechnical, structural, infrastructure, or site-based construction projects will be highly regarded.
- Salary Range:
AUD $77,000 per annum before superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience.
