About the role
MUFG Retirement Solutions is seeking a Head of Technology, Administration Platforms to lead the strategy, delivery, and operation of our core internal technology platforms that underpin day‑to‑day business operations. This is a senior leadership role accountable for ensuring our administration platforms are resilient, secure, scalable, and fit for the future.
You will define and execute the strategic roadmap for operating platforms, lead large‑scale modernisation initiatives, and ensure platforms meet regulatory, cyber security, and operational resilience requirements. Working closely with senior leaders across Operations, Cyber Security, Risk, Finance, and Transformation, you will play a critical role in lifting digital maturity and enabling sustainable business performance.
In this leadership role you’ll be responsible and accountable for
Strategy & Platform Ownership
- Own and execute the strategic roadmap for core administration platforms, aligned to enterprise strategy and operational resilience objectives.
- Lead platform modernisation initiatives including cloud transformation, platform consolidation, and lifecycle management.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies, automation, modern engineering practices, and platform operating models.
Technology Delivery & Operations
- Lead enterprise‑scale technology delivery, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, to quality, and with clear business value.
- Oversee multi‑year platform programs, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring adherence to architecture standards and governance frameworks.
- Embed modern delivery practices including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and automation.
- Own the end‑to‑end performance, stability, resilience, and security of core platforms.
- Ensure platforms meet service levels, regulatory obligations, cyber security standards, and business continuity requirements.
- Oversee operational monitoring, incident management, capacity planning, patching, and change management.
- Establish and enforce technology standards, SLAs, controls, and performance metrics across the platform ecosystem.
- Embed technology risk management, including operational resilience, cyber risk, third‑party risk, and technical debt.
People Leadership
- Lead and develop high‑performing teams across platform operations, delivery, and service management.
- Build capability in modern engineering practices, automation, and platform management.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Support career development, mentoring, and ongoing upskilling aligned to MUFG’s values and performance culture.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to Chief Operations and Technology officer (COTO) and other senior executives on platform performance, technology risk, and strategic investment decisions.
- Partner with business leaders to understand operational needs and ensure platforms support efficient, scalable, and resilient processes.
Manage relationships with strategic vendors, partners, and service providers.

What you'll bring
10+ years’ senior leadership experience across technology delivery, platform ownership, or enterprise systems.
Proven experience leading enterprise‑scale technology platforms across both delivery and operations.
Strong background in cloud technologies, automation, DevOps, API management, and modern engineering practices.
Demonstrated experience operating in regulated or complex environments, with strong alignment to cyber security and technology risk management.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex technology concepts into clear business value.
- Exceptional leadership skills with experience developing high-performing technical teams.
Ability to translate complex technology concepts into clear business outcomes.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including influencing at executive level.
Experience supporting operational resilience and regulatory obligations in financial services.
Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline and relevant certifications (e.g. ITIL, Agile, Cloud, DevOps).
