At Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), we are committed to Trusted Care, Better Health for Everyone, and we are looking for an experienced and passionate Drug and Alcohol (D&A) Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS to play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within our Assertive Case Management (ACM) team.

About the Opportunity

Step into a role where your clinical expertise and leadership will shape patient outcomes and drive excellence in care. As a D&A CNS2, you will play a key role in delivering advanced, patient-centred care and providing expert advice across the service and District.
You will undertake comprehensive assessments for clients with complex health needs and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to plan, implement and evaluate person-centred care, supporting optimal outcomes. A non-judgemental, empathetic approach and a strong commitment to harm reduction principles are essential.

This position is essential in ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the team. In this role you will:

Deliver advanced, person-centred nursing care, applying specialist knowledge and clinical judgement to support optimal patient outcomes
Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, promoting best practice and professional development.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care strategies.
Contribute to quality improvement activities, including audits, education, and the implementation of evidence-based practices.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to foster a safe, supportive, and respectful care environment.

About you:

We are looking for someone who has:

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with relevant post-registration qualifications and specialty experience.
Demonstrated advanced clinical expertise and ability to deliver complex patient care.
Proven clinical leadership with the ability to support and develop nursing practice and service delivery.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and IT skills to influence practice and deliver specialised care.
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, while adhering to professional standards and codes of practice.
