About the role
The Projects Group is responsible for developing, delivering and assuring project-related changes and improvements across the regional rail network.
The Group coordinates, integrates and delivers major projects and network change in a safe, collaborative and innovative manner, enabling V/Line to shape the improvement and modernisation of V/Line’s regional transport service.
The primary objective of the Occupation Schedule & Readiness Lead is to oversee the team that will schedule, review and build closure programs with internal project teams and external delivery partners. This will include reviewing access and occupations requests in line with the project’s agreement.
This role requires occasional travel to sites throughout regional Victoria. It’s a great way to get out to the regions and see our beautiful State!"

Position Accountabilities:
Lead the team of Occupation Schedulers and Readiness Coordinators to ensure the Closure programs are scheduled, review and build t mee the project requirements.
Review and/or schedule closures to meet the needs of projects and internal and external stakeholders ensuring all required works are able to be accomplished in line with the project’s agreement and V/Line requirements whilst best achieving the prescribed timeframe and delivery parameters of the project.
Review & co-ordinate events between predominantly T-52 and T-12.
Liaise with internal & external stakeholders to review & schedule closures, ensuring the plan encompasses all elements impacting planned works and the operational network during a closure thus allowing for a successful transition to an Occupation Coordinator at T-12.
Manage an end-to-end tool to coordinate requests of each project in line with the projects agreement and V/Line policies and procedures requirements.
Provide forecast cost estimates for closures and assist with maintaining accurate cost performance forecasts for the project and future projects.
Provide support to internal and external stakeholder on the application of the works readiness procedure.
Manage an end-to-end tool that tracks the readiness and reviews of each project in line with the works readiness procedure requirements. Providing regular reports to Program & Delivery BLT & SLT.
Support internal and external stakeholders in the planning of all access relating to the delivery of projects, providing quality information, & assistance in the Delivery of the day-to-day access, and any other occupation needs outside of closures.
Work with Occupation Coordinators from T-12 to T+2 to support the planning, co-ordination, management, and execution of the planned closures.
Assist with the management & upkeep of the Notice of Intent on behalf of Program & Delivery team. Making or reviewing entries and providing expert advice to Program & Delivery teams in navigating access to the network, including stakeholder engagement where necessary.
Support and attend the region of the closure as required to engage with stakeholders.
Track lessons learned during the scheduling phase and implement improvements.

About you
As the Occupation Schedule & Readiness Lead, you will report to the Head of Disruptions Management.
You will also be responsible for supporting project teams in understanding and the application of works readiness as well as accurate information for reporting on the readiness status to relevant stakeholders.
Selection Criteria:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE and PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- 5+ years rail experience in frontline or operational rail roles or scheduling experience. (Essential)
- 5+ years stakeholder engagement and communication skills. (Essential)
- Demonstrated experience with government agency stakeholder management (Essential)
- Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a complex environment. (Essential)
- Proactive, collaborative and resilient approach, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and drive solutions.
