Your Opportunity
As a Vocational Placement Coordinator, you will support the delivery of Higher Education and Faculty programs by coordinating and managing vocational placements, developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with universities and community service organisations, and providing high-quality administrative support. Working closely with Faculty managers, academic staff and external stakeholders, the position designs, implements and oversees placement programs for Applied Sciences and Business students, ensuring positive educational outcomes and access to sustainable, high-quality placement opportunities.
This is a temporary part-time (0.6fte) opportunity, to 31 December 2026 unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily at South Bank Campus however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
This position reports to the Delivery Support Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
Maintain current knowledge of industry practices, training programs, products and resources to support the faculty in relation to the completion of vocational placement agreements and contracts.
Provide advice and guidance on the vocational placement program to all stakeholders, including students prior to and during vocational placement.
Coordinate vocational placements in accordance with organisational vocational placement policies and relevant legislation.
Maintain records of client industry placement needs, training and assessment programs, and associated reporting documentation to ensure that the region's statutory obligations are met.
In consultation with educational staff, understand processes to support vocational placements in all Applied Sciences and Business courses, organise preference lists for students, pre and debrief information sessions and provide first point contact to resolve or refer as appropriate any issues arising from placement.
Refer academic and professional behavior issues as appropriate to Educational Team Leader or Operations Manager.
Coordinate student access to learning programs and appropriate assessment processes and records (on and off the job) ensuring all aspects of the training program are satisfactorily achieved for clients on time and within budget.All assessment to be completed and signed off by Course coordinator and or ETL.
Provide advice and training in the use of systems including the student and learning management systems, award eligibility and the registrations process and ensure work is performed in line with policy, procedures, workflows and compliance requirements.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
Demonstrated ability in the management and marketing of TQB's products with particular emphasis on client/student relations and progressing of administration support.
Proven track record and success in undertaking administrative tasks demonstrated through efficient and effective delivery of outcomes, with a proven commitment to providing outstanding client service.
Well developed interpersonal, listening and communication skills, including written communication, the ability to consult with a range of stakeholders and work collaboratively to achieve team and organisational goals.
Demonstrated project coordination skills relevant to the facilitation of learning programs, products and support to employers and other clients, and an ability to develop innovative solutions in a flexible and client orientated training market place
Displays flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic challenging and changing environment.
Sound problem solving, time management and prioritisation skills, with high level attention to detail and competence in using a range of systems, software and tools
