About the role

As a Biomedical Engineer / Technical Officer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of a broad range of therapeutic, diagnostic, and life-support medical equipment. Working closely with clinical teams, you will help ensure medical devices are safe, reliable, and operating effectively to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of biomedical equipment, ensuring timely resolution of equipment issues and effective coordination with clinical staff, contractors, and vendors.
Deliver a comprehensive preventative maintenance program, including equipment inspections, testing, servicing, and accurate maintenance record management.
Ensure compliance with manufacturer recommendations, Australian Standards, and organisational policies through equipment safety testing, acceptance testing, quality assurance activities, and technical support to hospital staff.
Maintain accurate equipment and documentation records while adhering to information management, workplace health and safety, and regulatory requirements to support a safe and efficient healthcare environment.

What we’re looking for

Relevant Degree or Diploma in Biomedical, Electronic or Electrical Engineering, with experience in biomedical engineering or technical support.
Demonstrated knowledge of biomedical equipment used in healthcare settings and the ability to apply biomedical and electronic engineering principles.
Strong computer skills, including experience with equipment management systems; life sciences training is desirable.
