IDEXX is seeking an Instrument Technician II to join our Instrument Services team in Sydney. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing our in-house diagnostic instruments, ensuring veterinary customers can continue to deliver high-quality care to animals.

As an Instrument Technician II, you will directly contribute to the reliability and performance of these critical systems through expert repair, testing, maintenance, and quality assurance. Your work will help ensure our customers receive dependable equipment and exceptional service, ultimately supporting better outcomes for pets, livestock, and the people who care for them.
You will troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and test IDEXX diagnostic instruments and associated equipment.
You will perform full instrument disassembly, repair, reassembly, and functional testing at our Sydney facility.
You will execute preventative maintenance programs and support equipment servicing activities.
You will assemble, test, and inspect electrical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical components and assemblies.
You will accurately document repair activities, test procedures, and results using electronic systems and Microsoft Office tools.
You will identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of procedures and documentation.
You will support quality, safety, and compliance requirements, including adherence to standard operating procedures.
You will work across multiple product lines and develop broad technical expertise.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance where required.
You will maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
You have a technical qualification or background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
You have approximately 2 to 3 years of experience in equipment repair, manufacturing, technical service, maintenance, or a similar hands-on technical role.
You have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose faults and perform repairs independently.
You can read and interpret technical documents, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and specifications.
You are comfortable working with mechanical and electronic systems and have an aptitude for electro-mechanical repair.
You have strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
You are proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
Experience with medical devices, laboratory instrumentation, diagnostic equipment, or veterinary technology would be advantageous but is not essential.
You are a flexible team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
