Following our move into a modern facility at the Tonsley Innovation District, we are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist with strong Mazak and DMG Mori turning experience to become a key member of our manufacturing team.
About the Role
Responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
The successful candidate will play an important role in improving productivity, quality, efficiency and continuous improvement as Oilpath continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set and operate Mazak and DMG Mori CNC lathes.
- Manufacture precision hydraulic components to drawing specifications.
- Lead and coordinate daily activities within the CNC turning area.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor quality standards and inspection requirements.
- Troubleshoot machining and process issues.
- Work closely with production control, engineering and quality teams.
- Contribute to a safe and organised workplace.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Trade qualified machinist.
- Extensive experience operating CNC turning centres.
- Strong experience with Mazak and DMG Mori machines.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Sound understanding of machining tolerances and quality requirements.
- Experience with low-to-medium volume precision manufacturing.
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
Highly Regarded
- Experience in precision component manufacturing.
- CNC programming experience using ISO & Mazatrol and/or conversational programming.
- Experience with multi-axis CNC lathes and live tooling.
- Exposure to continuous improvement or lean manufacturing principles.
