About Hobbyco
Established in 1935, Hobbyco is one of Australia's longest-running specialty hobby and toy retailers. We operate bricks and mortar retail, a direct-to-consumer ecommerce channel, and a wholesale import division. Our operations run across seven distinct inventory pools and are underpinned by a modern, integrated technology stack connecting our ERP, warehouse management, and ecommerce/retail platforms.
Role Overview
The successful applicant will be responsible for the end-to-end operational integrity of Hobbyco's supply chain - from inbound freight coordination through to last-mile fulfilment across retail and ecommerce channels. This role sits within a lean operations team and requires the ability to operate with significant autonomy, managing complexity across multiple inventory pools, fulfilment channels, and system integrations simultaneously.
This is not a generalist logistics role. The successful applicant will have direct, hands-on experience managing supply chains that span import, warehousing, retail replenishment, events and ecommerce fulfilment within a single operational entity and will be comfortable operating within, and improving, a tightly integrated technology ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Supply Chain
- Coordinate inbound freight for imported product lines across multiple international origin markets, including managing shipping schedules, customs documentation, and landed cost tracking
- Liaise with freight forwarders and overseas suppliers to ensure accurate and timely delivery against purchase order schedules
- Manage inbound receipting workflows within the ERP, ensuring stock is accurately received, costed and allocated across inventory pools upon arrival
Warehousing & Distribution
- Oversee daily warehousing operations across Hobbyco's fulfilment, receipt and replenishment channels
- Manage the WMS to ensure accurate pick, pack, and despatch across ecommerce and wholesale orders
- Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy across business inventory pools, driving regular cycle counts and discrepancy resolution
- Own the retail replenishment cadence, working with store managers and the operations team to maintain appropriate stock levels across all locations
Ecommerce Fulfilment
- Manage the fulfilment pipeline for Hobbyco's ecommerce channels, including direct-to-consumer orders and marketplace fulfilment
- Work within and across the connector layer between systems to identify and resolve fulfilment discrepancies, inventory sync failures, and order processing exceptions as they occur.
- Support the ongoing optimisation of related operations including inventory feed accuracy and despatch SLA compliance
Systems & Integration
- Serve as a functional power user of Hobbyco’s ERP and WMS, with responsibility for maintaining data integrity across both platforms
- Collaborate with the Head of Operations on system configuration, integration monitoring, and process improvement initiatives spanning the full supply chain technology stack
- Identify and escalate integration failures or data discrepancies between connected systems in a timely manner
Reporting & Analysis
- Produce regular supply chain performance reporting including inbound lead times, fulfilment rates, stock accuracy, and replenishment performance
- Maintain freight cost tracking and contribute to landed cost modelling for imported product categories
- Support demand forecasting collaboration, providing operational input to purchasing and replenishment planning
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a supply chain, distribution, or logistics management role with direct responsibility across both warehousing and ecommerce fulfilment
- Demonstrated experience managing inbound international freight, including familiarity with import documentation, customs processes, and freight forwarder relationships
- Experience in the hobby goods retail & import industry
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP and Netstock in a supply chain context.
- Direct working experience with a WMS platform in a warehousing environment
- Proven experience managing ecommerce order fulfilment at volume, including familiarity with multi-channel marketplace operations
- Strong data literacy: Ability to interrogate system data, identify discrepancies, and resolve root causes without reliance on dedicated IT support
- Experience operating within a multi-location retail environment with centralised warehousing and store replenishment responsibilities
Highly Desirable
- Experience with NetSuite saved search creation, inventory management configuration, and fulfilment workflows
- Familiarity with Shopify as an ecommerce platform, including order management and inventory sync behaviour
- Familiarity with the Celigo integrator platform
- Experience managing or contributing to ERP or WMS implementation or migration projects
What We're Looking For
The right person for this role is operationally meticulous and able to hold complexity across multiple systems and channels without losing accuracy. You will be working in a business where the ability to move between strategic thinking and hands-on execution in the same day is a baseline expectation, not an exception.
Hobbyco is a specialist business with a distinctive supply chain. Generic logistics experience without the specific combination of import, ecommerce, retail replenishment, and ERP depth described above is unlikely to meet the requirements of this role.
How to Apply
Applications must include a current CV and a cover letter addressing the essential selection criteria directly. Applications that do not address the selection criteria will not be assessed.
Applications close four weeks from the date of advertisement. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
