Remuneration: $74,326.00 – $118,754.00 per annum, pro rata (+ super + 17.5% leave loading where applicable)
Location: Negotiable within Murrumbidgee Local Health District

About the Opportunity
Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Health Promotion Officer to join our Population Health team. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your health promotion skills in a supportive, mission-driven environment, working across priority areas including tobacco control, healthy weight, and falls prevention in older people.
As a member of the Health Promotion team, you will plan, implement and evaluate projects from the Health Promotion Operational Plan, with a strong focus on health equity and the social determinants of health.

As the Health Promotion Officer, you will:

Plan, implement and evaluate health promotion projects in the priority areas of tobacco control, healthy weight and falls prevention in older people
Embed equity into all programs, with a focus on the social determinants of health
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice and effective health promotion interventions
Work within quality frameworks, maintaining accurate data entry into state-wide and local databases and reporting against KPIs
Build and sustain effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including schools, early childhood services, community groups and local government
Contribute to program reports and share lessons learnt from local project implementation

About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Tertiary qualification relevant to health promotion
Demonstrated abilities in contemporary health promotion practice in the Australian context, particularly in planning, implementing and evaluating health promotion projects in the priority areas of childhood overweight and obesity, tobacco control and falls prevention
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and partner successfully with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including community groups, local government, schools and private providers
Well-developed time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Strong oral and written communication skills, including interpersonal communication skills and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
Ability to work cooperatively and productively in a remote team environment, including supporting other staff to develop effective health promotion skills
Computer literacy including Word processing, Excel, email and effective use of the internet for research
NSW Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and Vaccination Category B compliance
