About the role
We are after an experienced ward clerk to join our Antenatal Clinic Ward Clerk team at Box Hill Hospital. This is a temporary part-time role, 9 days per fortnight (Monday - Friday 0700 - 1530) available from 3rd August until 8th April 2027. This will be to cover a period of extended leave.
Antenatal Clinics at Box Hill Hospital provide pregnancy care to women within the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We host specialists within this service and our clerical team works closely with our Midwifery Manager, Associate Midwifery Manager and Medical teams to deliver best evidence-based care.
Daily tasks involve:
- Checking patients in
- Rebooking patients
- Answering phone queries
- Working closely with our multi-disciplinary teams regarding care of families.
- Ordering stock
- Data entry and appointment management
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Recent skills in administration (hospital setting preferred)
- Strong computer literacy skills
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
