The Officer, EHS/QA supports Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance activities at our Melbourne site. This role helps maintain a safe, compliant workplace and supports the site Quality Management System to meet regulatory, quality and environmental requirements in a regulated medical device environment.

This on-site role is based in Melbourne and reports to the Manager, Quality Assurance.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Support site EHS programs, systems and continuous improvement activities.
Help ensure compliance with WHS and environmental requirements through risk assessments, incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.
Maintain and support the site Quality Management System in line with ISO 13485, internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
Support batch release, nonconformance investigations, CAPA, audits and document control activities.
Partner with cross-functional teams to build a strong culture of quality, safety and compliance.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, biomedical, medical technology or a related technical field.
Formal qualification in WHS (Certificate IV or higher) with demonstrated experience.
Strong knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation.
Experience in Quality Assurance in a regulated environment, preferably medical device or in vitro diagnostics.
Working knowledge of ISO 13485, risk management, audits, CAPA, nonconformance and document control.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

Ability to travel occasionally, with travel expectations for this role being low (less than 10%).

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Experience supporting both Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance responsibilities within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Experience in medical device or in vitro diagnostics environments.
