VPS 5 Senior Business Partner, People & Capability

Hybrid working environment.
Fixed term up to end of 2028 (Full-time FTE or open to 0.8FTE), VPS 5 $116,413 - $140,849 + super & benefits.
This role will be located at 180 Lonsdale St.

Join us in building better connections for Victoria by:

1. Providing coaching and strategic advice to senior leaders on key people policies and procedures including performance management, mobility and recruitment, change management, culture and engagement, wellbeing, recognition, conflict management and career development.

2. Focussing on early intervention and local resolution to manage people concerns including assessment of workplace issues, negotiating, and applying appropriate action ensuring relevant legislation, industrial instruments and HR policies are interpreted and applied.

3. Leading the implementation of frameworks and people initiatives, that support contemporary people practices and organisational development initiatives.

4. Developing a strong business acumen, with the ability to use data and analytics to support evidence-based discussions to drive people strategies and initiatives and translate these into people plans to build high performing teams.

5. Preparing and presenting detailed reports, advice and briefings, including -depth analysis of trends affecting resource requirements and recommend potential solutions as well as regular and ad hoc reports, correspondence and other documentation relating to employment activities.

Reporting to the Manager, People and Capability the Senior Business Partner, People and Capability partners with directors and managers to provide high level coaching and strategic advice and support across the employment life cycle. A true business partnering role with a focus on launching significant programs and initiatives to lift the industry capability and drive engagement, the role is responsible for proactively managing a range of people initiatives and cases.

About You

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related discipline highly desirable.

Extensive experience in a HR generalist role with proven ability to interpret and apply legislative and policy requirements.

Sound knowledge of HR best practice approaches, with demonstrated experience partnering with the business across all aspects of human resources including organisational change and design, workforce planning, performance, team dynamics, talent and succession, workplace relations, engagement, inclusion and leadership.

This opportunity is fixed-term until end of 2028.
